Internal Forced Convection Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop in the Transition Flow Regime

Prof Meyer

Prof Meyer obtained the BEng (cum laude)(1984), MEng (cum laude)(1986), and PhD (1988) all in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pretoria. He was a lecturer/professor at the Military Academy of Stellenbosch University, North-West University and University of Johannesburg. At present he is Professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering. His research field is convective heat transfer in which he has published more than 550 scholarly articles, conference papers and book chapters and successfully supervised 63 masters and 22 PhD students.

Professor Wagdi Habashi

Professor Wagdi Habashi holds the NSERC-Lockheed Martin-Bell Helicopter Industrial Research Chair for Multi-physics Analysis and Design of Aerospace Systems in the Mechanical Engineering Department of McGill University and directs its Computational Fluid Dynamics Laboratory. Dr. Habashi is the founder-President of two startups operating at an international level: Newmerical Technologies International, acquired by ANSYS in 2015, and CERTIF-ICE, Inc., a company active in the field of in-flight icing certification, in 20 countries. He is a Chevalier de l’Ordre national du Québec, a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences of the Royal Society of Canada, a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and of Pratt & Whitney Canada.

Prof. Marcelo J.S. de Lemos

Prof. Marcelo J.S. de Lemos obtained hisPhD degree from Purdue University, USA, in 1983. He is a Professor at ITA, founder and head of 2 research laboratories, namely the Computational Transport Phenomena Laboratory - LCFT/ITA (http://lcft.mec.ita.br) and the Competence Center for Energy - CCE/ITA. On the overall, he has published more than 360 articles in conference proceedings and journals in addition to 9 book chapters and 5 books. He is member of the Honorary Editorial Advisory Boards of Int. J. Heat & Mass Transfer and Int. Comm. Heat & Mass Transfer, member of the Editorial Advisory Board of J. Porous Media and Editorial Board Member of Int. J. Dynamics of Fluids and Int. J. Applied Engineering Research.

Prof. Shripad P. Mahulikar

Prof. Shripad P. Mahulikar is a Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. He has published over 50 research papers in leading journals in the assorted fields of Infrared Signatures of Aerospace Vehicles, Laminar Micro-Convective Flows, Non-equilibrium Thermodynamics of Dissipative Structures & Self-Organization. He obtained PhD in 1999 on Laminar Micro-Convective Flow, from the Nanyang Technological University Singapore (School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering). He was DFG’s Mercator Chair Professor in Hamburg University of Technology Germany (Institute for Thermo-Fluid-Dynamics), from Dec 2011 - Dec 2012

Prof Dean Vucinic

Prof Dean Vucinic, is member of 2 departments: Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Informatics at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). His Ph.D. thesis became a book in 2010, ISBN 978-3-8383-3500-1. In early 90's he developed "CFView - Computational Field Visualization System", first-time-ever interactive visualization software adapted to numerical simulation solvers, completely based on the object-oriented technology, and fully implemented in C++During more than 27 years at VUB, he successfully participated in more than 20 European projects under the European Frameworks, EUREKA/ITEA and Tempus educational programs, where more than 20 PhD-s based their visualization and data analysis applying CFView. He is author of more than 50 scientific papers in the international reviewed journals and conferences proceedings. Member of several Boards of International Journals. He is the European Commission expert in H2020. Member of AIAA, IEEE, ACM, SAE & ASME.

Dr Mabruk Issa Suleiman

Dr Mabruk Issa Suleiman is the Senior Manager Engineering R&D and Support Services at Takreer Research Centre Manager, has more than 37 years' experience both in upstream and downstream processes. He is a certified professional leader by the international institute of leadership. He has produced more than 100 corrosion investigation reports and published several papers on stainless steel corrosion. He obtained both his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Manchester Corrosion Engineering Research Centre. He is now leading a three years research project on the sulfur speciation and corrosivity indexing of refinery feed stocks.
